While trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up, I spoke to my counselor. Like many others, I scored high in math, however what stood out, was that I got 100% in “mechanical reasoning”. This was unheard of, however it truly speaks volumes as to my final path.
With my bubbly personally, many people suggested, and it seemed a natural to go into “Sales”. I did this for a short time, however I quickly learned this was
NOT for me, so back to wondering, what’s next?
When I met my husband Martin, a new opportunity came to be. Martin was a General Contractor who preformed contracts for the Government, and with
a little nudge, I dove in and took care of all of his paperwork (A match made in heaven). Because of the need for better accounting skills, I took a couple of classes and quickly became a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for both the desktop & online version. It felt like home.
With the encouragement of my husband, I finally decided to officially start my own business. While I initially focused on small businesses, helping them to be business smart from the start, I started getting asked by friends for help in “fixing” problems that they could not solve in their own. Once again my love of “puzzles” and finding solutions has helped many companies over the years. So…while I became a bookkeeper by “accident”…it was truly, Meant To Be!
